Week 3: Rebuilding with Encouragement & Simplicity
TIP
Relax. Friendship builds through frequency, not perfection. Purpose, not performance.
SCRIPTURE
“Let us not give up meeting together… but encourage one another.” — Hebrews 10:25
QUOTE
“Every step toward friendship is a step away from isolation. Don’t wait until it’s perfect—just walk together.” – Jeff Kemp
QUESTION
Who are you walking with in this season of life—talking with and knowing each other?
PARABLE
After drifting alone for a year, Josh texted an old friend: “Been way too long. Need to catch up.” That 10-second message restarted a friendship that had drifted but not died. All it took was a small step to begin walking together again.

EXAMINE SELF
Have I disengaged from meaningful friendship? Why did it happen? Do I want to re-engage—but haven’t been sure how?
CONFESS
I’ve let friendships drift and excused it as “busyness.”
REPENTANCE
Father, I’ve avoided showing up and walking together with friends. Help me to step into walking with friends for real, this week, this month, this year.
DISCUSS WITH A FRIEND
What does “walking with each other” mean to you? What’s a way we can do that better?
ACTION STEP
Reach out to a friend you’ve lost touch with. Say something like: “Been thinking about you. I’d like to get connected again.”
COMMITMENT
I will not wait to feel ready or certain—I’ll start where I am to build a couple of intentional friendships.
HABIT
If you haven’t already scheduled a weekly check-in habit, text a friend to suggest a call or a coffee each week.
COACHING
If you’ve disconnected, you’re not disqualified. You qualify if you have a desire and a need. Reconnection is just a step away. Grace always lets you get back on track.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, help me get intentional and consistent. Lead me to restart or start the core friendships that matter so much.
PRAYER REQUEST
Text a buddy: “Can I pray for something important for you this week?” Write a reminder to do it. Pray as soon as he texts or calls back, “Father, please do whatever You know is best for him and help him trust you.” Later this week, let him know you prayed for him.
