Guys,

Our huddle gave us high-octane coaching for intentional deep friendship.

Take steps with God to invest in your core deep Friendships. Please also do 3 things:

1) Definitely SIGN UP for CORE 3 Coaching TEXTS & SHARE IT. (unsubscribe if the value isn’t clear after a few weeks)
2) INTRODUCE ME to leaders of men in your city & network by text or email. CALL ME if you’re curious about an ambassador role.
3) SEND THIS EMAIL & Video to reach, resource and invite men leaders to the NEXT huddle on OCT 6

Tom Flick and Steve Ridgway gave us honesty and passion, with practical wisdom and equipping. We hit how tostart, grow, and sustain deeper friendships as fuel to follow Jesus, love our families, lead humbly, and quit tackling life alone.

The big takeaway:

Friendship can spark spontaneously, but the best of friendship comes on purpose, not by accident. Share your desired vision for friendship, create confidential safety, and ask to hear his story. Listen well, open up first, encourage him, ask deeper questions, and swiftly pray.

That’s the friendship men need. It’s consistent huddling and open conversation.

HIGHLIGHTS:

• Create safety by establishing confidentiality. Don’t assume it. Ask for and agree on it verbally. “What’s shared here stays here.”

• Friendships are inconvenient, but so worth it. Deep friendships cost some time, comfort, flexibility, and some scheduling effort. Isolation and not being known costs a whole lot more.

• Ask friends, “tell me your story”. Men open up when you’re genuinely interested. Be more interested than interesting.

• Every dude needs encouragement. Men need to know someone likes them, believes in them, and likes being with them. Don’t hold back encouragement. Say the good thing about him.

Be Generous with friendships. Be radical with the friendship and love of Jesus (like Steve)…then stay in touch.

Decide to have a deep conversation about your life every week with a couple core friends.

• Pray on the spot. Not long, polished, or preachy. A brief “man prayer” is powerful: honest, simple, humble, and right in the moment.

• Guys want to be around authentic humility. Humility makes friendship safe. When we stop posing, proving, and performing, other men get permission to be real too.
