Week 24: Guide Other Guys to Huddle & Go Deep
QUESTION
What guy(s) could you help start huddling to deepen and enjoy Level 5 friendship?
STORY
Caleb invited two spiritually mature men to huddle with him. After a few months, one said, “I think I can do this to deepen friendship with two of my best college buddies.” Caleb gave him the LEVEL 5 FRIENDSHIP PLAYBOOK and a few CORE 3 COACHING texts on the early stages of huddling. Now, old buddies are connecting consistently in deep friendship.
EXAMINE SELF
Am I keeping the power of huddling to myself—or helping others adopt and spread it?
SCRIPTURE & INSIGHT
“Go and make disciples of all nations… teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” — Matthew 28:19-20.
Discipleship includes mutual discipleship by Level 5 Friends.
QUOTE
“You grow most when you help others grow.”
TIP
Level 5 Friendship is for every man, but it’s passed on personally. First, you model it, then encourage and empower others.
PRAY, CONFESS & REPENT
Jesus, I confess I haven’t passed on the good stuff I’ve enjoyed in friendships, when so many guys are lonely and isolated. I don’t want to be self-satisfied and comfortable with just my friendships. Help me to pass it on to other guys.
COACHING
Invite an enthusiastic friend to huddle for a couple of weeks or months. Ask him what friends he’d like to develop into core friends who huddle consistently. Pray for and launch him.
ACTION STEP
Ask the guys in your small group and church if they have a close friend or two with whom they process and pray about their lives frequently. Offer to help guys understand and experience deep and consistent core friendships.
COMMITMENT
I will help guys begin huddling with one or two of their friends. (Pray. Explain, Encourage. Model. Resource.)
HABIT
Keep your eyes and senses open for men who could use encouragement and guidance to start huddling to deepen their core friendships. Talk to other guys frequently about deep friendship.
TALK & PRAY WITH FRIENDS
Sit down with or jump on the phone with a core friend or two. Pray for friends who likely need LEVEL 5 FRIENDSHIP. Think about reaching out to pastors and leader friends who could really benefit from this safe, confidential, and robust friendship.
